EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about seeking protection or safety in Allah's mercy. It teaches us that we should always turn to Allah for help in times of difficulty, no matter what it may be. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should ask for protection against five things; miserliness, cowardice, old age, worldly afflictions, and punishment in the grave. Miserliness means not wanting to spend money on good causes or charity even when one has enough money to do so. Cowardice means being too scared or afraid to do something even if it is a good thing or a necessary thing. Old age refers to growing older without having achieved anything meaningful in life before death comes upon us suddenly. Worldly affliction refers to any kind of suffering that can come upon us due to our own actions or due to external factors beyond our control such as natural disasters etc.. Lastly, punishment in the grave refers to any kind of suffering that one may experience after death before entering paradise if they are deserving of it according their deeds while alive on earth. All these five things are something we should strive hard against by turning towards Allah for help through prayer and supplication as well as doing good deeds throughout our lives so that we can be saved from them all when judgement day comes around eventually for each one of us individually insha'Allah!
