The Power of Praise

Narrated 'Ali bin Abi Talib: Fatima came to the Prophet  asking for a servant. He said, "May I inform you of something better than that? When you go to bed, recite "Subhan Allah' thirty three times, 'Al hamduli l-lah' thirty three times, and 'Allahu Akbar' thirty four times'.Ali added, 'I have never failed to recite it ever since". Somebody asked, "Even on the night of the battle of Siffin?" He said, "Even on the night of the battle of Siffin".

Sahih al-Bukhari 5362 (Book 69, Hadith 12)

QUICK LESSONS:
Recite "SubhanAllah", "Alhamdulillah" and "AllaahuAkbar" before going to bed every night.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Ali bin Abi Talib, tells us that instead of asking for a servant, we should recite certain phrases praising Allah before going to bed. These phrases are “Subhan Allah” which means “Glory be to God”, “Al hamduli l-lah” which means “Praise be to God” and “Allahu Akbar” which means “God is the Greatest.” Ali also mentioned that he has been reciting these phrases ever since the Prophet Muhammad told him about it and even on the night of the battle of Siffin. This hadith teaches us that praising God is more important than anything else in life and it can bring us closer to Him.
