The Difference Between Virtue and Vice

SUMMARY: Virtue is having a kind disposition and vice is something that you would not want others to know about.

Nawwas b. Sam'an al-Ansari reported: I asked Allah's Messenger  about virtue and vice. He said: Virtue is a kind disposition and vice is what rankles in your heart and that you disapprove that people should come to know of it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for virtue; have a kind disposition; stay away from vices
EXPLANATIONS:

This hadith explains the difference between virtue and vice. Virtue is having a kind disposition towards others while vice is something that one would not want others to know about. It could be an action or thought that one has done or had which they are ashamed of or do not want to be known by other people. This hadith teaches us to always strive for virtue in our lives as it will bring us closer to Allah and make us better people overall. We should also try our best to stay away from vices as they can lead us astray from the path of righteousness and cause harm both spiritually and physically.
