The Difference Between Virtue and Vice

Nawwas b. Sam'an al-Ansari reported: I asked Allah's Messenger ﷺ about virtue and vice. He said: Virtue is a kind disposition and vice is what rankles in your heart and that you disapprove that people should come to know of it.

This hadith explains the difference between virtue and vice. Virtue is having a kind disposition towards others while vice is something that one would not want others to know about. This hadith teaches us to always strive for virtue in our lives as it will bring us closer to Allah and make us better people overall. We should also try our best to stay away from vices as they can lead us astray from the path of righteousness and cause harm both spiritually and physically.
